Sunday’s parade forecast is much better
NEW ORLEANS (WVUE) - Heavy rain and damaging wind gusts are still possible through Saturday evening (Feb. 3) as a surface low is continuing to move through the area.
Flooding will be a concern, along with wind gusts to 50 mph. The rain and wind will taper later tonight and we’ll dry out as we head into Sunday.
Expect a warmer day Sunday, as highs should rebound to the mid-to-upper 60s with only isolated chances for showers. It should be a great parade day, as the wind will be much lighter and we’ll even get a chance at sun in the afternoon.
Monday should be slightly cooler, with a very strong northerly wind (gusts to 30 mph). This increase in wind is signaling a pattern shift that will keep our weather quiet for several days.
We remain mostly dry until the end of the work week. But an active pattern will set up for next weekend and into Mardi Gras.
