According to the Sheriff’s Office, its Investigative Services Bureau and Internal Affairs–Criminal Section opened an investigation into Detective Sharhonda Hadley following allegations of financial mismanagement involving an off-duty detail she coordinated. While the victims declined to press charges in that matter, investigators uncovered payroll irregularities showing that Hadley had been paid her OPSO salary while also receiving compensation for one or more off-duty details.

The findings were described as a pattern of financial misconduct.

Hadley was terminated before her arrest. She is charged with public payroll fraud and malfeasance in office.
