Sheriff’s officials said Clarence Clark was arrested and charged in connection with an incident that occurred on Dec. 19, 2025. Jail leadership notified the Investigative Services Bureau of the use-of-force allegation on Dec. 22, prompting an internal investigation.

After reviewing available evidence, the case was referred through the appropriate judicial process, officials said.

Clark was charged with one count of second-degree battery, a felony, and one count of malfeasance in office, also a felony. He was terminated from his position prior to his arrest.
